Can Muslims Believe in Global Warming, Life on Mars, Moon Landing, and the Big Bang Theory?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: Keeping in mind that Allah Ta’ala is the power behind everything, can Muslims believe in the following:

1) Global warming, and that people should be environment-friendly.

2) Life in Mars might be possible.

3) People have gone to the moon.

4) The big bang theory.

Schools drill these into students’ minds.

Bismillaah

A: These are not part of your beliefs. The big bang theory is called a theory because a theory is something that is not conclusively proven. Isn’t it foolish that they have not proven it; it is just an imagination yet you wish to take it to the level of belief when they have not proven it to be a factual reality.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
