Income of a taxi driver who took a loan from the bank to buy a taxi

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: I live in Barcelona, Spain. There is lot of Muslim community and majority has taxis which they bought with the help of a bank. My question is, is their income halaal?

Bismillaah

A: Taking an interest bearing loan from the bank to purchase a vehicle or anything else is impermissible. However, the wealth earned through the halaal service of transporting people is halaal.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
