Sunset at 6.40: When to Perform Salah?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q:

1. If sunset is 6.40, at what time should Salah be performed?

2. If sunrise is 6.25, what is the end time of Fjar Salah?

3. If magrib Salah is performed a few minutes early, will it be valid?

4. If in the absence of a watch, how do we look at the sky to know fajr and maghrib salaah times?

Bismillaah

A:

1. After the sun has set completely you may perform the Maghrib straightaway.

2. At the point the sun begins to rise the Fajr time has ended.

3. If it is before sunset it will not be valid.

4. Look at the sunrise and sunset.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
