Behaviour with non-Muslim parents

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: What should be our behaviour with Non Muslim parents? Should we love them with our hearts? And are we allowed to have light hearted conversations with them and joke with them?

Bismillaah

A: A believer is commanded to treat his parents kindly and respectfully in all permissible matters. Perhaps his good conduct will be an invitation for them to enter the fold of Islaam.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
