Should a Girl Disclose Her Past to a Potential Partner?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: If a girl has had a bad past, has repented and would not like any individual to know about it, would it become necessary or compulsory for her to reveal such if asked about her past when a boy comes for proposal? Also, does she have to reveal everything that has happened in her past (before marrying that person) after marriage?

Bismillaah

A: It is not permissible for one to reveal his sins to anyone. Sincerely repenting to Allah Ta’ala is sufficient.

This is also not permissible.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
