Transliteration for the name Aaminah

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: I need to know the correct spelling and meaning of the name of Nabi (sallallahu alaihi wasallam)’s mother. Is it Amina, Aamina, Aminah Amna, Ameena OR any other. Please also help me out how to write and pronounce it correctly in urdu.

Bismillaah

A: There is no exact transliteration for the Arabic names. A close equivalent will be Aaminah. It means the one who is safe.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
