Q: Can a step grandfather, without the permission of the biological father give my daughters hand for nikaah. Her biological father says that he has to give permission for the step grandfather to stand as her guardian or her nikaah is invalidated.
A: It is important that these matters be discussed with the biological father. It is not appropriate that the biological father be ignored. The step grandfather does not have any right (haqqe wilaayat) over his step granddaughter.
And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
