Dua in congregation after Salaah

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: Is it permissible to make dua in congregation after fardh namaz? Is there any hadith in which it has been called an innovation in Islam? When can it be permitted to do so?

Bismillaah

A: Du`aas should be done after the fardh namaaz individually. Since the du`aa was not done in congregation after namaaz by Nabi (sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) and the Sahaabah (radhiyallahu anhum) so obviously doing it in congregation will be wrong.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
