Omitting salaah and performing it later as qaza

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: I work in a bank. When I come back from office I usually miss Asar prayer due to traveling. I reach home by Maghrib prayer time. Kindly tell me what shouldd I do about asr prayer? When I can offer it? Do I have to offer complete prayer later on or only two rakaats?

Bismillaah

A: It is compulsory to perform each salaah in its prescribed time. Omitting salaah and performing it later as qaza is not permissible. Omitting salaah is a major sin in Islam. Severe warnings have been sounded in the Ahaadith for the one who omits salaah. Sincerely repent to Allah Tala for committing this grave sin and make a firm resolve that you will not repeat this sin in the future. If you are travelling, you should stop at some place and perform the salaah in its prescribed time.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
