Q: What is meant by “memorizes” or “preserves” the 99 names of Allah in the Hadith below:
عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ لِلَّهِ تِسْعَةٌ وَتِسْعُونَ اسْمًا مَنْ حَفِظَهَا دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ
A: The shaariheen (commentators of Qur’an and Hadith) have given two explanations, one is to memorise the words themselves. The other is to bring these attributes into oneself. For example, Allah is gracious, so you be gracious towards the creation.
And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
