Wudu and Gas Problems: Common Questions Answered

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: I have gas problems and my wudu breaks so many times. I have some questions regarding this problem

1. If I don’t feel the pressure of something coming out but I feel some bubble in the back passage, especially after using water does it invalidate my wudu?

2. Sometimes I feel no pressure but some air in the back passage and quite sure about the feeling..though the feeling of coming out is not there..does it invalidate my wudu as I saw a hadith that shaytan does it to confuse us?

3. Sometimes I try to stop it from coming out but not sure it has come out but I am not feeling the pressure anymore I feel like I am relieved, in this case do I have to repeat my salah?

4. How to be sure that it is not waswasa and it is real?

Bismillaah

A: 1 – 4. Just feeling a bubble does not invalidate the wudhu. Until you are not sure that something has left your wudhu will be valid.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
