Sleeping with the satr uncovered

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: Is it sinful if the ‘satr’ (covering the essential parts of one’s body) is not covered before and during sleep on bed?

Bismillaah

A: The ulama have strongly disapproved of this. Even in the privacy of the home the satr should be covered, otherwise the person is deprived of the company of the malaaikah. Allamah Shaami has counted this as incorrect.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
