Will wudhu break if blood is mixed with phlegm?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: I wanted to know if wudhu breaks by nose bleeding. The blood comes out with the phlegm and not dripping like usual. Does wudhu break even if a little blood comes out?

Bismillaah

A: If blood does not flow from your nose, but is seen in your phlegm, then if the blood is equal to the phlegm or more than the phlegm, the wudhu will break. However if the blood is less than the phlegm, the wudhu will not break.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
