Girl indicating her consent for the marriage

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: During my nikah, I was not opposed to the marriage, however the witness only asked me who I wished to take as my representative, not if I accepted the marriage or not. My brother performed the qubool on my behalf. Is this correct, or did I have to verbally say I accepted the marriage?

Bismillaah

A: If you did not say verbally but you indicated your consent or after the marriage you allowed your husband to come in seclusion and intimacy with you then your nikaah is valid.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
