Revoking Two Talaaqs: What Happens to the Nikah?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: I have a question pertaining to talaaq. If someone issued two talaaqs and revoked it, but never issued the third one, what is the status of that person’s nikaah.

Bismillaah

A: If he issued two talaaq e raji and thereafter revoked it during the iddat period, the two talaaq will be revoked (though they will be counted) and the wife will remain in his nikaah.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
