Intention when performing hajj-e-badal

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: I have come for hajj second time with intention to perform hajj-e-badal for my deceased father. My question is that while doing niyat and saying talbiya for hajj, will it be done on behalf of my father by taking his name or what will be the correct procedure?

Bismillaah

A: You do not have to take his name. Niyyat is enough.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
