Family Disapproval: My Muslim Fiancé and I Want to Get Married, But My Brother Doesn’t Approve

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: I love a boy and he also loves me and we want to get married but my family dont want to accept our relationship. My brother does not like the boy. He is Muslim and well educated. I cannot live without my family. What should I do? How can I get Allah’s help?

Bismillaah

A: Cut off ties with this boy and seek forgiveness from Allah Ta’ala for getting involved in this haraam relationship. Listen to your parents and do not do anything without consulting them.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
