Challenges of Cross-Cultural Love: My Journey to Marry a Girl from Another Country

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: I am in love with a girl (not from my country) for two years. I directly proposed her 2-3 times but she refused multiple times that it is difficult for her to marry person outside from her country due to cultural differences. I made istakhara countless time but I didn’t got any sign. I used to recite some duas & wazeefas to get her in form of marriage. Few days before I requested one molvi to whom I used to get wazeefas to perform istakhara on my behalf. That molvi told me he has got negative sign in dream. He told you can marraige her on power duas & wazeefas but surely it will end in break up ( un sucseeful) because it appeared in Istakhara.

1. Please guide me how long molvi’ s istakhara and result is valid?

2. I used to continue pray 2 rakat istakhara with dua after Isha prayers , if I get that girl , then do you think marraige will break?

3. How can I convince her to accept my marriage proposal?

Bismillaah

A: End up this haraam relationship and sincerely repent to Allah Ta’ala for being in contact with this non-mahram girl. Make a firm resolve that you will not repeat this in the future. If you wish to propose for her, then contact her parents and speak to them.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
