Looking at the Ka’bah while making Tawaaf

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: Should a person not look at the Ka’bah during tawaaf?

Bismillaah

A: It is permissible to look at the Ka’bah while making tawaaf, though looking down is better. One should refrain from turning his chest towards the Ka’bah while making tawaaf. Turning one’s chest towards the Ka’bah during tawaaf is impermissible. The only time one will face his chest towards the Ka’bah while making tawaaf is at the time of istilaam.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
