Interceding for others on the day of Qiyaamah

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: When I was 15 my friend asked me to promose to give a testify at the day of Qayamah that he was a good person. But i am scared that if I forgot to keep my promise I will be the one going to Hell, even if I didn’t do anything wrong. I made the promise and now I am scared to forget about it as I will have to face Hell instead to him. Is this possible that such contract can be made for Qayamah?

Bismillaah

A: On the Day of Qiyaamah, only those people will be able to intercede for others who Allah Ta’ala permits. Therefore you should be more concerned about leading a life of purity and fulfilling the rights of Allah Ta’ala and the creation, so that on the Day of Qiyaamah, you may be honoured with the privilege of interceding for others.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
