Observing purdah with wife’s relatives

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: My question is: I live in a self contained apartment (one bedroom and sittingroom) with my wife. Then my wife gave birth. This situation has made her relatives come in numbers (three to four of them all females). My question here is: should I continue to stay with them (sleep, bath, etc) or find an alternative if there is any.

Bismillaah

A: There is no need for you to move out. However, you should ensure that you observe purda with the non-mahram females.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
