Salat without Qa’da: Can You Pray Sitting on a Chair?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: If someone can do qawma, ruku, and sajdah, but he can not do the qa’da; how should he make the salat? Is it permissible for him to make the Salat sitting on a chair or not?

Bismillaah

A: He should do the qoumah, ruku and sajdah. If he cannot sit at all on the ground in any posture then he may sit on the chair for jalsah and do the rest as normal.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
