Is Income from a Relative Working in a Bank’s Computer Department Halal?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: If a relative works for the bank in the computers department (networks, fixing computers, etc., not programming) then is his income 100%halal? Would it be advisable to eat his food?

Bismillaah

A: The majority dealings of all conventional banks are in total contradiction with the laws of Shari’ah. Their main operation revolves around interest and usury. Hence one should refrain from taking employment in a bank.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
