Living together after divorce

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: Recently, I divorced my wife three times at once verbally. But I stayed with her for one month after the divorce because she was alone and was very sick as she had a misscarriage and after some days of divorce she under went an operation. She was not even able to walk or do something. During this period we got close to eachother some times. But we both were reserved as we knew the conditions and we didn’t get physical properly. Now she is fine and we are living separate. Now, I don’t want to live with her. I am so much confused and worried about this matter. Did the divorce take place completely or not? Should I send her a written notice? Is it necessary?

Bismillaah

A: The divorce is complete. She is haraam for you.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
