Converting from Shia to Sunni to get married

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: If a person wants to convert from Shia to Sunni just to marry a girl, what should he do and what should he not do?

Bismillaah

A: If it is just for marriage then this is no guarantee that he will remain a sunni. Unless he is sincere about becoming sunni then there is a procedure. He needs to first make up his mind whether he is sincere, and if he is then he will remain committed to this.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
