Challenges of a Muslim Girl in Love: Overcoming Family Obstacles for Nikah

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: I’m a 21 year old Muslim girl. I’m in a relationship with a guy of my same age. My parents are not willing to make me his wife and nowadays I feel like I’m alone because everyone in my family are considering me as a stranger and hurting me soo much that I can’t bear it. I’m in such a difficulty that I feel like I want to finish my life but I can’t do it. I can’t imagine a life with anybody else. My guy is a very religious person and still my parents are becoming an obstacle in our nikah just because of our age. Please help me to calm down my stress and tension and also to convince my parents and make them ready for our nikah. Also provide duas to overcome this situation.

Bismillaah

A: All forms of premarital relationships are haraam. Immediately cut off all ties with this person and listen to your parents and elders.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
