Saying “Ya Ali madad”

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q:

1. Is there shirk in naats?

2. Is it okay to ask ya Ali madad?

Bismillaah

A:

1. If we know the wordings we will be able to tell you.

2. Hadhrat Ali (radhiyallahu anhu) is not Allah Ta`ala. Hence, he is not present nor can he be of any assistance to you directly. How can this ever be right.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
