Giving one’s child to someone who does not have children

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: We have three children and expecting fourth one. My cousin do not have any child, sometime back they asked my wife if you have another child, promise me to give that child, which my wife promised her. Now in light of Quran and Sunnah, can we give our child to my cousin?

Bismillaah

A: The child belongs to you. Even if you make it over, the child belongs to you and you are fully responsible.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
