Working and Parenting During Talaaq-e-Baain: Navigating Iddat and Divorce.

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: If my husband gave talaaq-e-baain. Am I allowed to go to work? I have a two year old daughter. Am I allowed to take her outside in the back to play? He just gave the divorce today. I am supposed to be getting my period by this week. How do you calculate the iddat?

Bismillaah

A: It is the husband’s duty to provide for you in the iddat, seeing to all your needs and requirements. Hence there is no need for you to leave your house.

Yes.

You will calculate the iddat with 3 monthly cycles starting from February.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
