Praying as a University Student: Making Up Missed Prayers

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: I want to ask that I am a university student and often it happens to me that I miss prayer due to classes. So I want to ask that how I can I perform my prayers after the time of that particular prayer has ended?

Bismillaah

A: Do not make your Salaah qadha. Ensure that you perform each Salaah in its prescribed time. Salaah is the most important pillar of Islam. The first thing a person will be questioned on the day of Qiyaamah will be in regard to Salaah. Severe grave warnings have been sounded in the Qur’an and Ahaadith for the one who forgoes his Salaah. Make sincere tawbah to Allah Ta’ala for missing out your Salaah and commence performing Salaah upon its prescribed time. You should also make qadha for all the Salaah you had missed.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
