Masnoon Dua for Seeking Shahaadat from Allah Ta’ala

Q: Is there any masnoon dua for asking Allah Ta’ala for Shahaadat?

A: We do not know of any masnoon dua recorded in the Hadith. However, one may recite the dua of Hazrat Umar (Radiyallahu Anhu). The dua is as follows:

اَللّهُمَّ ارْزُقْنِيْ شَهَادَةً فِيْ سَبِيْلِكَ وَاجْعَلْ مَوْتِيْ فِيْ بَلَدِ رَسُوْلِكَ صَلّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم (بخاري رقم 1791)

O Allah! Bless me with martyrdom in your path, and make my death be in the land of your Rasul (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) (i.e. Madinah Munawwarah).

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
