Can my wife drive while I’m away in Jamaat?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: I have received advice already about not allowing my wife to drive. I have be since fetching and dropping off kids from school myself. However at present I am away in jamaat and return in a few weeks. My wife is very afraid and protective to send our young kids with anyone or a lift club and her relationship with family is not such where she can inconvenience them to help as they are also busy. Is it allowed for her to fetch and drop off while I am away or am I supposed to leave jamaat and return home. Also is it ok for me to be in jamaat while she is alone?

Bismillaah

A: Can’t you arrange for a reliable driver to transport your children.

If she is quite safe.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
