Leading Maghrib Prayer: Dilemma with Muqtadees

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: I lead Maghrib prayer. There were two muqtadees. I recited Surah Fatiha ‘s begining verses without voice. I will inform one of them to repeat his prayer but I don’t know where the other one is. What should I do?

Bismillaah

A: In such a situation, the Salaah should be repeated as long as the time of that Salaah remains. Once the time of the Salaah elapses, the Salaah will not have to be repeated.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
