Preparing one’s kafan before one’s death

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: My grandmother has prepared her own kafan and kafans of her children and husband. All of them are alive at the moment. Is it an established practice? If yes, does it have any virtue in Islam?

Bismillaah

A: No, though permissible.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
