Delaying in giving ghusal to the deceased

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: Why is it not allowed to read Qur’an in front of the deceased before ghusal? I have found in many places where the deceased are kept for 5-6 hours without ghusal so that all relatives can come and see the face of the deceased for the last time and then buried immediately after the ghusal of the deceased.

Bismillaah

A: You should encourage doing the ghusl immediately after death. What is the need to delay the ghusl.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
