Explaining Talaaq, Khula, Reconciliation, and Iddah in Shariah

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: My husband signed khula papers on 13 June 2016. He signed the papers due to force from my parents side. Again on 18 Aug 2016 in anger he orally gave me talaaq on phone saying in the presence of Allah I am giving you talaaq. He said it three times. I want to know whether it is valid in shariaah to reconcile with him or have to marry an another person? I also want to know about the iddah period of this khula because in my khula nama it is written talaq-e-baain? What rules apply for this divorce if we want to reconcile?

Bismillaah

A: If you were still in iddat when he gave the talaaqs then you are totally haraam for him.

Iddat will be normal 3 menstrual cycles.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
