Q: I wanted to ask a question regarding talaaq. A husband has said the word talaaq three times in two different majlises. Three in both of them. The wife and him know that the husband didn’t say the words of talaq to the wife rather he was just making her hear the words. He and the wife know that he was playing around with Allah’s Deen and that talaaq wasn’t intended nor said to the wife but he was just making her hear the words. They both know and are certain that there was no intention of it either as the couple are both happy with each other. Has talaaq occurred and which type? Eagerly waiting for a reply. I was told by a mufti that contact a fiqh council, I have but there is no reply so far. After all this whilst thinking of this I went to sleep and had a dream that I was pregnant and the foetus inside was moving about I didn’t know I was pregnant until 6 7 months. I wanted to tell my husband but was unable to due to family being there.
A: If the husband had issued three talaaqs to the wife, then the three talaaqs are valid and the nikaah has terminated.
