Q: If a man wants to marry another woman can he marry without permission from the first wife? If she doesn’t give permission and he marries the other woman anyway is it a sin?
A: The nikaah will be valid. It is totally against the sunnat to get into a secret nikaah. The nikaah must be announced and publicized and without publicizing and announcing the nikaah one is exposing himself to a lot of complications and suspicions.
