Q: Recently, someone has been inquiring about bay’at and its importance. If mufti sahib could please explain as this person is interested in bay’at?
A: The bay`at that is practised by mashaayikh is a commitment by the mureed that he will commit himself to the islaahi program that the shaikh instructs him with. There are spiritual illnesses and sicknesses that have to be remedied and cured and the shaikh with his understanding will gradually direct the mureed how to go about correcting and rectifying himself.
