Women’s Jamaats on the Rise: Should Your Wife Join?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: Recently I have noticed that there is an increase in women jamaats (masturaat) coming in our area. Please advise as my wife who attends the weekly taleems has been asked to join the outbound masturaat jamaat with her nephew who is in jamaat being her mahram. Please advise and give your opinion as my personal view is that it is not necessary for females to be out.

Bismillaah

A: Your wife should listen to you. If you are unable to attend the jamaat program with her, then you should conduct the Aamaal of jamaat (taleem of fazaail aamaal, fazaail sadaqaat, zikr etc.) in your home. Perhaps you may invite the jamaat to your home so that they may conduct their program in your home. In this way you and your family will derive Deeni benefit.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
