Estate agent charging a commission

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: My question is I am working as a real estate agent. Whenever a deal is done, we take a 2% of amount from from both the sides i.e from the buyers as well as from the owner. Is this acceptable in Islam. What does the Shari’ah say about this?

Bismillaah

A: It is permissible.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
