Dealing with Urinary Retention: My Struggle with Incomplete Urination

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: I am a 21 years old. My problem is that whenever I pee, there’s some part of urine that is left unexcreted and that passes later on for few minutes in the form of drops. However, when I make certain movements and move my legs in some random way, I feel like all the urine has passed however I still have doubts about whether all the urine is passed or not. The practise that I have been doing till now is that i either wear a pant after urinating for few minutes and change it when I am certain that there’s none left or I either forcibly take out the urine through pressing. I think these are not the right ways. Kindly guide me. I have this problem since my childhood.

Bismillaah

A: After relieving yourself place a piece of toilet paper around your private area to absorb any remaining urine drops. Once you feel comfortable that all extra droplets have come out, then you may make wudhu.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
