Making tayammum if there is insufficient water for ghusal

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: If someone is in the state of janaabat, but there is no sufficient water for ghusal, although there is water for wudu (ablution), what should he do?

Bismillaah

A: If the quantity of the water will not suffice for the ghusl and there is no water available for the distance of one mile, then it is permissible for him to make tayammum with the niyyah (intention) of ghusl and perform his Salaah.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
