Using make-up containing carmine

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: Is it permissible to use make-up containing carmine? (Carmine is a red pigment/dye derived from insects native to South America and Mexico that live as parasites on cactus plants. Used as a colorant in food, cosmetics and textiles)?

Bismillaah

A: If it is porous and it is not in conformity with kuffaar styles, it is permissible.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
