Is it Permissible for Muslim Women to Open a Beauty Parlour?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: I am a Muslim woman and I wanted to know that is it a gunnah to open up a beauty parlour and I will do all the jobs like plucking eyebrows of Muslim and non Muslim women and waxing and many more. I am a single parent for my child and I wanted to earn money, because of this I wanted to open a parlour.

Bismillaah

A: On account of the numerous wrongs that are associated to this profession we consider this to be a very shameful and reprehensible occupation.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
