Dealing with a Short-Tempered Spouse: My Istikhara Dream Indicates Improvement

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: I got your reply today and I got very happy by reading your reply. Jazakallah khair. My husband is a very nice person. My in-laws are also very nice and supportive but the thing is that my husband is a very short tempered person and I am a very patient and sober kind of girl. So sometimes he hurts me so much by his behaviour. You wrote in your reply that my istihkara dream indicates that my relation with my husband and in-laws is improving.. So please tell me what should I need to do to handle his rude kind of behaviour? I love and respect him and my in-laws and I want to be the best wife for him and the best daughter for my in-laws. Allah has given me approval for this relation by showing me the positive response in my dream. I trust Allah a lot and I respect his decision by saving my relationship with my husband and in-laws and that is the reason I always try to handle things patiently. Waiting for your reply. Allah bless you.

Bismillaah

A: Ensure that you and your family are punctual on performing the five daily Salaah on its prescribed time. Observe strict purdah with all non-mahrams and refrain from all avenues of sin. Ensure that the Aa’maal carried out within the home conform to the Mubaarak Sunnah of Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam). Make ta`leem of Fazaa’il-e-A`maal and Fazaail-e-Sadaqaat daily with your family and reserve some portion of the night and day for the recitation of the Holy Qur’an. Ensure that you fulfil the rights of your family, in-laws, etc. and think before speaking so that you do not cause any inconvenience to any person. Fulfil the rights of your husband at all times and overlook his weaknesses and shortcomings. To create unity and mahabbat within your family, recite the attached dua after Salaah.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
