Islamic Ruling on Aamils and Ruqya: Permissibility and Distinctions Explained

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: What is the Islamic ruling on aamils? Those that claim to know who is affected by jinn. Is it permissible for a husband to bring such a person into your home? What is ruqya and what is the distinction between the two?

Bismillaah

A: Every precaution must be exercised to ensure that there is total purdah observed from any strange person, be it an aamil or aalim or whoever, neither should they speak to the person directly nor should they be face to face with any stranger.

Ruqyah and amal is the same.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
