Marijuana and Napaak: Does the Alcohol Ruling Apply?

Q: My question is on Marijuana (weed). If he/she smokes marijuana, is that person napaak for 40 days? Does the ruling for alcohol apply to smoking marijuana as well?

Bismillaah

A: No, though he will be worthy of reproach, and his act is very much reprehensible.

Alcohol is even worse. An alcoholic is cursed and his prayers are not accepted.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
