Marrying the ex-husband’s nephew after iddat

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: One of my friend is getting divorced from her husband because he left her and married another woman. Now, the son of her sister in-law (i.e. son of her husband’s sister) likes her and offered her for marriage and she also wants to marry him, so is there any problem in the light of Islam? Is it halaal? Please advise.

Bismillaah

A: After spending the iddat, it will be permissible for her to get married to her ex-sister in-law’s son.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
