Is it Okay to Call Azaan Before Prayer Time?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: I have a friend who calls azaan repeatedly before its actual timings in roads and in restaurants and shops. I told him to not do that but he says calling it is good. Isn’t azaan should be called on prayer time only? Please give detail answer whether I am wrong or he?

Bismillaah

A: If Azaan is called before the Salaah time enters, the Azaan will not be valid. After the time enters, the Azaan will have to be repeated.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
